Policies allow you to apply settings to a specific group. Policies need to be applied to every group you wish to run the policy on.   There are two exception to this:


  1. Top Level Group - (Trust Level) - This group contains every device/user within your tenancy

  2. Site Level - (School Level) - This group contains every device/user assigned to your Site. 




Example.

A policy applied to Group 1 will not be applied to Sub Group 1.


A policy applied to Group 2 will only be applied to that group.


Policies contain items which are the settings you want to apply to the group, for example auto updates or mute sound.  Each policy can have multiple items.
