Senso makes it possible to restrict the access users have to the web console so that they can only view or edit certain groups. This is so that any sensitive information can be accessed only by those who absolutely need to.

To demonstrate how to do this in Senso, this example will show the restriction of a user’s access so that they can only see the group called User Groups. This is just one example; group names and members are completely customisable dependent on your site.

Log in to the portal and go to the Admin Center via the cog icon on the top right next to your username:

Expand Console Users and select Manage Roles.

Click the + icon to "Create a New Role" or edit an Existing Role.

In the options under Scope, select Apply to the following sites. Leave the options blank to apply restrictive access to only the groups listed below a site.

Click Confirm to save a new role, or click Edit to save changes to an existing role. 

Close the Admin Center tab to return to the main portal page.

Within the main portal, select the group you would like to give the user access to, which in this case is User Groups.

In the right-hand-side panel select the Access tab. Click the + button to add a new access permission.

In the list of users and roles select the role you have just created/edited.

From the Group Access Level drop-down select the level of access you want to give the user (view, modify, full).

Click the Confirm button to create the new access permissions.

The user will now only have access this group. You can use our recommended role configurations for safeguarding specific groups. This can be implemented specifically for access of safeguarding logs to make sure that only certain members of staff are able to view certain violation data for the access permitted.
