Roles are used to manage a user's access and permissions within the Senso console, allowing you to control what actions they can perform.

  1. To create and manage roles, go to the Roles section within the Admin Centre.

By default, Senso includes an ORG Admin role, which provides full access to all areas of the product. This role is recommended only for technical leads or advanced users. This role cannot be edited

  2. To create a new role select '+ Add Role' to open a new window where you can configure the user's settings.

  3. Give the role a Name and configure 'Apply Role To'

All Sites: This option grants the role access to all sites within the portal.
Selected Sites: Choose the specific sites to which the role permissions will apply.
User Assigned Sites: Role permissions will be automatically applied based on the sites a user is assigned to.

We recommend using "User Assigned Sites" as it allows you to apply a single role across multiple sites.

  4. Permissions - Choose which area you want to target to set permissions for or select All in the drop down menu to see all preference settings for permissions.

Admin - Manages access to the admin centre, as well as administrative settings and permissions.

Asset - Controls access and permissions for Asset Manager within portal

Concern - Manages control for Concern Reports

DNS - Controls access to the DNS Dashboard

General - Handles overall system settings and configurations.

Group - Manages group settings, including creation and access permissions.

Integrations - Configures and manages third-party integrations.

Logging - Oversees access to system logs for monitoring and auditing.

Notifications - Manages notification settings and access to alerts.

Policy - Controls security and usage policies within the system.

User - Manages user accounts, roles, and permissions.

Web Content Filter - Configures and enforces web filtering policies to control online content access.

  5. Modules - Set the module permissions to control which modules a role can access in the web console. The available modules will vary based on the options purchased for your site.

  6. Role Visibility - Set which site's users can view the Role.

  7. Login Restrictions - Select any restricted times or IP addresses during which users with this role will be able to access the portal.

Configure this for the days when users of the role should have access. Enabling restrictions for specific days will prevent logins on any days left unconfigured. In the example below access will be permitted Monday to Friday 09:00 until 16:00

You can also set up an IP-based restriction, allowing users to connect only when they are on specific networks.

  8. Once finished, make sure to select 'Confirm' to create the role, enabling you to assign it to users.
